County Administrative Annex – Latin I
Mar 2026 · 2nd Semester
In Latin I, students will begin to understand the basics of the Latin language and will end the Year able to comprehend simple Latin texts, both written and spoken. We will improve our proficiency with Latin through a variety of engaging reading and listening activities, as well as highly structured writing and speaking activities. Through all of this, a focus on Latin vocabulary and its English derivatives will improve students’ grasp of English vocabulary. Furthermore, we will explore the mythology, culture, and history of the Romans and begin to learn how to connect with and learn from a long-dead society that is simultaneously wildly different and surprisingly similar to our own.
