Mar 2026 · 2nd Semester
Latin IV is the class where students get to fully enter into the world of Latin literature. We will read topics as varied as Roman graffiti, ancient horror stories, Roman love poetry, medieval adventure stories, accounts of Roman history, and modern Latin poetry and comics. What exactly we study in depth will depend upon student interest, as students will vote for their preferred topics. Through reading the words of the ancient Romans, we will delve even more deeply into the culture, history, and mythology of this fascinating ancient society. As the students learn to connect with a world that has been gone for 2000 Years, they will gain perspective on the world we live in today and will improve skills that will help them as they go out into the world to whatever awaits them after high school.
