County Administrative Annex – Art Major

The Art Major course is designed for the student who intends to pursue a career in the visual arts. Since a portfolio of artwork is normally required for admission to art school, this course is directed to that end. Students are therefore required to work in the major areas of visual artistic expression and to explore a variety of media, such as painting, drawing, sculpture, ceramics, print-making, and graphic arts. It is hoped that by covering these areas students will be ready for acceptance to and success at an institution of higher learning.
