Costello Elementary School – Music Theory

The development of a student’s ability to recognize, understand, and describe the materials and processes of music presented in a score are achieved though aural, analytical, and compositional exercises. Building on this foundation, the course progresses to include more creative tasks, such as creating a well-crafted melody, harmonization of a melody by selecting appropriate chords, and many more compositional techniques. This course will count as a math elective credit to juniors and seniors who have completed all other required math credits.
