Coronado High School – Medical Terminology

This course emphasizes the learning of Latin or Greek elements used in medical terminology. Knowledge of these elements with simplified meaning enables students to interpret and understand thousands of complex medical terms. using symptom or pathologybased scenarios as a theme for the medical terminology. As an example, someone comes into the ER that is short of breath., the patient might have CHF and a few other underlying conditions; we would then use Medical Terminology based on the scenario as we figure out what is going on.
