A student experience that enriches the community through service or internship but is not tied to a paycheck. Council 1,2 Course Length: 1 year Grade:10-12 Credit per Semester: 1 Prerequisite: Application Credit type: Elective GPA scale: 4/4.5 College/Workforce: None Student Council provides students with the opportunity to make a difference at Coronado and in their community. In this class students will work with a group of peers toward the production of school events, fundraisers and to advocate for the student body. The purpose of the student council is to give students an opportunity to develop leadership skills by organizing and carrying out school activities and service projects. Every member of the council will be expected to work events outside of the class period, and to complete community service hours to help improve their school and community. Students must complete a class application and submit teacher recommendations to become approved to join. Honors credit can be earned.
