Coronado High School – Walking and Hiking Fitness

This course is driven to teach everything needed to know about how to adopt a fitness walking/hiking lifestyle into daily life. Students will participate in multiple walking/hiking activities each week and train for the end of semester 5K walk/run event (TBD). In addition to walking/hiking 10-12 miles per week, students will learn that walking and hiking is a great alternative to exercise with lower impact activity on ligaments and joints. Exercises and stretches will be designed to improve walking/hiking fitness and form and use technology to set personal fitness goals.
