ACE 1: The ACE program is the combination of career development, career planning, job seeking, job keeping, and financial literacy skills. This course explores student vocational interests and education goals. It also teaches the necessary job skills to get a job to learn employability skills necessary to meet and exceed employer expectations. Whenever possible, computer literacy and leadership skills are embedded in the curriculum. This course may be taken concurrently with Voc. ACE Work 1. Career Development 2/Voc. ACE 2: This course may be taken concurrently with Voc. ACE Work 2. The Alternative Cooperative Education (ACE) 2 Program is designed to enhance employment related skills for secondary students. This course covers paychecks, taxes, social security, employment goals, and various other units. It also teaches the necessary job skills to keep a job. Whenever possible, computer literacy and leadership skills are embedded in the curriculum. Financial Lit/Voc. ACE 3: This course is taken concurrently with Voc. ACE Work 3. The Alternative Cooperative Education (ACE) 3 Program is designed to enhance consumer related skills for the job and for living on your own. This course covers consumer related skills for the job and for living on your own including budgeting, credit, insurance, investments, buying a car, renting an apartment and various other skills. It also teaches job skills necessary to meet and exceed employer expectations. Whenever possible, computer literacy and leadership skills are embedded in the curriculum. Voc. ACE qualifies for economics credit. Career Development 3/Voc. ACE 4: This course is taken concurrently with Voc. ACE Work 4. The Alternative Cooperative Education (ACE) 4 Program is a one-semester class designed to enhance employment related skills for secondary students. This course covers entrepreneurship, time management, ethics, teamwork, relationships at work and various other units. Students are encouraged to have a job or be pursuing a job and provide their own transportation to and from their job. Whenever possible, computer literacy and leadership skills are embedded in the curriculum. Vocational ACE WORK 1, 2, 3, 4 Course Length: 1 SemesterGrade: 11, 12Credit per Semester: 1-3Prerequisite: Counselor/instructor recommendation $^ { \ast }$ must be taken with Voc Ace workCredit type: Elective or PWRGPA scale: 4.0College/Workforce: Earn up to 3.0 credits when taken with Voc. ACE Work Voc. ACE WORK 1, 2: This course is taken concurrently with Voc. ACE 1. Students can earn a maximum of 2 elective credits for 120 documented hours of work, or 1 elective credit for 60 hours of documented work. Job Evaluations are done on a quarterly basis regarding the student’s progress with their employer. Documented volunteer and/or internship hours can be counted toward work credit. Voc. ACE WORK 3, 4: This course is taken concurrently with Voc. ACE 3. Students can earn a maximum of 2 elective credits for 120 documented hours of work, or 1 elective credit for 60 hours of documented work. Job Evaluations are done on a quarterly basis regarding the student’s progress with their employer. Documented volunteer/and or internship hours can be counted toward work credit. Students may take ACT Work Keys assessment to meet a graduation requirement through ACE – see instructor for details.
