Major Outcomes: • Understand the procedures for obtaining a CDL and the importance of compliance with applicable regulations. • Demonstrate a systematic procedure to con- duct accurate and efficient vehicle inspection. • Demonstrate how to safely perform basic control maneuvers: shifting, backing • Learn about the importance of speed and space management when operating a trac- tor-trailer. • Learn the importance of preventive mainte- nance and servicing • Understand a variety of subjects that to- gether make for an alert, healthy, and safe driver. | Projects/Activities: The Introduction to Commercial Driving course prepares students for entry into the trucking and logistics industry, through individual and group projects, field trips and industry tours.
