Communication and Media Arts High School – Robotics Engineering I

In this initial course, students will gain foundational knowledge and skills in the high-demand, multidisciplinary area of mechatronics. Mechatronics integrates principles from four engineering disciplines: electrical, mechanical, computer, and industrial. Students will learn about robots, machines, electronics, hydraulics and pneumatics, electrical motor controls, sensors, computer-aided design (CAD), programming, and other topics that together form the basis of “smart” devices used in robotics and advanced automated systems. Career related activities, projects, and work-based learning experiences are included, where possible. GRADUATION TRACK: HS Diploma GRADUATION REQUIREMENT: Elective GRADUATION CREDIT: 0.5
