This course engages students in learning to develop their skills in reading, writing, speaking, and listening. Course curriculum is aligned to the Michigan Standards for English Language Arts (CCSS). This course is an introduction to the field of communication with emphasis on the contexts in which communication occurs. The course serves as an introduction to the strands of communication: interpersonal, small groups and teams, mass communication, organizational, intercultural, and rhetoric.
