Communication and Media Arts High School – IB Japanese IV

In this course, learners participate in short social interactions in everyday social and survival situations that may present complications. They are able to ask and answer a variety of questions and say what they want to say about themselves and their everyday life and personal interests or studies. They communicate consistently about present and future, but inconsistently about past events and create with the language. They are consistently understood by native speakers accustomed by interacting with language learners. They understand the main idea of texts related to everyday life and personal interests or studies. They write briefly on a wide variety of familiar topics using connected sentences and present information. They recognize and use some culturally appropriate vocabulary, expressions, and gestures when participating in everyday interactions and recognize that differences exist in cultural behaviors and perspectives and can conform in familiar situations. Prerequisite: Japanese III or IV OR demonstrated Intermediate Low level of language proficiency (or higher) in the four skills via district-wide verification GRADUATION TRACK: HS Diploma GRADUATION REQUIREMENT: Language/JPN GRADUATION CREDIT: 0.5
