Cody High School – Metals Machining

This course enables students to design and manufacture metal parts using various machine tools and equipment. Course content may include interpreting specifi cations using blueprints; preparing and using manual and computer numerical controlled (CNC) lathes and milling machines, shapers, and grinders with skill, safety, and precision; maintenance; developing part specifi cations; and selecting appropriate materials. Advanced course topics may include quality control; statistical process control; and application of measurements, metalworking theory, and properties of materials. Courses may prepare students for industry certifi cation.
