Photojournalism, Middle School Intro to Broadcasting, or have a teacher recommendation High school students enrolled in this course will apply and use their journalistic skills for production intended for a select audience. Students will learn the laws and ethical considerations that affect broadcast journalism; learn the role and function of broadcast journalism; critique and analyze the significance of visual representations; and learn to produce by creating a broadcast journalism product. Students will apply industry standard skills, technical and artistic, to productions including but not limited to news programming, documentaries, commercials, PSAs, and graphic design elements. Students in II and III will participate in project-based learning for production every grading period that demonstrates their leadership ability in class projects.
