Endorsement: Business & Industry This course is the final course in the series of Metal Manufacturing courses. It is designed to provide advanced-level skills and a further understanding of machine shop operations. Students will learn the knowledge, skills, and technologies required for employment in a globally competitive manufacturing environment. They will continue to refine their metal technology skills and will be required to make a sheet metal project, a lathe project, and a vertical milling project. Students will participate in the H.U.N.C.H. program (High Schools United with NASA to Create Hardware) where they will work in cooperation with NASA to design, model, and assist in the manufacturing of parts for space. 7169 Introduction to Welding, 1 credit (state)/7170 Welding I (CVHS) ), 2 credits (state) Endorsement: Business & Industry Introduction to Welding/Welding I provides students with the basic knowledge and application of welding techniques to help start their career in welding. Students will learn about industrial safety, safely operate welding equipment, understand welding joint design, symbols and various welds as well as identify types of welding joints and positions of welding using shielded metal arc welding. This course culminates in an industry-recognized welding certification.

Prerequisites: Precision Metal Manufacturing I.
