This course serves as preparation for a career or studies in the wildlife, ecology, and natural resources industries. This course explores the importance of wildlife and recreation management to the environment and the agricultural industry. Students will learn the identification and management of game and non-game wildlife species, fish, and their habitats as well as their ecological needs. Students will gain technical knowledge and skills to prepare for careers in the field of animal science and livestock management. Students will explore nutrition, reproduction, health, and management of livestock and poultry. This course will study such topics as: common livestock and poultry breeds; internal and external anatomies; evaluation of livestock; feeds and feeding techniques; breeding advancements; and management skills.
