Clear Brook High School – 7711 Teacher Education Training I

This course allows an opportunity for a field-based internship that provides students with knowledge of child and adolescent development as well as principles of effective teaching practices. Students work under the joint direction of their classroom teacher and a mentoring teacher of their choice. Students will plan instructional activities and lessons as well as understand the responsibilities of teachers and all careers related to the education field. Students who successfully complete this course and meet all required qualifications will be eligible to apply for a substitute teaching position with CCISD upon graduation. Grade Level(s): 12 Prerequisite(s): Teacher Education Training I. Included in Class Ranking GPA: Noapplication required. This course is designed for the students who demonstrated success in Teacher Education Training I. Students will be more intensely immersed in the educational process by job-shadowing their mentoring teacher in all aspects of the teaching profession. All careers in education will be explored in depth. Students who successfully complete this course and meet all required qualifications will be eligible to apply for a substitute teaching position with CCISD upon graduation.
