Clear Brook High School – 7420 Computer Technician (CBHS & CFHS)

This course is the continuation of Computer Maintenance. Students will continue to learn the fundamentals of computer technology, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, networking and security, as well as the communication skills and professionalism which is now required of all entry-level IT professionals. Through hands-on exercises, students will work on PCs and local area networks in a lab setting and will gain the knowledge to install, configure and optimize personal computer hardware and operating systems. The primary focus of this course will be preparing students for the industry recognized $\\mathbf { A } ^ { + }$ Computer Technician certification exam. Students in this course will participate in an internship with the CCISD Technology department and will work alongside employees at the location in which they are assigned. They will gain real-world experience and will be trained in similar duties as regular employees. Transportation to and from the internship location is the responsibility of the student.
