Clay Center Elementary School – PHOTOGRAPHY 1-2 (L)
Apr 2026 · 2nd Semester
This course offers basic study in photography skills as an expressive art form. The exploration of both the cell phone camera and traditional film development will be explored. Students may bring in their own SINGLE LENS REFLEX (SLR) camera with adjustable controls and an internal metering system. Students will learn how to capture images in storytelling fashions, how to create dynamic compositions, and how to build a combination of cell phone camera imagery and darkroom process manipulation skills. Photography 2 is designed for the serious photography student to apply previously learned photography skills more creatively. Advanced cell phone camera manipulations will be included with complex, experimental procedures. Students are encouraged to think beyond the frame and explore photography as a tangible, expressive art form. This course is one of the course choices required for the Art Concentrator Pathway.
