Business Math is a course designed to prepare students for roles as entrepreneurs and producers.  It will help students develop skills that are a part of the business environment and the trades.  A solid understanding of skills related to algebra, basic geometry, statistics, and probability is the necessary foundation for students interested in careers related to business and skilled trade areas.  The content will include mathematics related to business operations as well as those related to the trades.  This class will meet two of the math requirements for an Indiana diploma for students in the class of 2029 and later, but will only meet the math requirements for a General Diploma for the classes of 2026-2028.  This class will not be recognized by four-year universities as a math requirement for admission. ALGEBRA 1 Lab(2516) Classification: Supplemental Prerequisite: Selection process Open to: 9 Credit: 1 (elective) RW \*\*This credit will be awarded in the second semester Algebra 1 Lab is a supplemental course. Students will be placed based on their performance in previous math classes and standardized test scores. The focus of this course is two-fold: 1) Students will work on strengthening the prerequisite mathematical and study skills needed to be successful in Algebra I 2) Students will be provided additional assistance with the material they are learning in Algebra I.
