Prerequisites: Student with IEP and in the REACH program This one-semester course meets requirements for .5 English credit toward graduation. Students study film as an art form and medium of literature. Students will screen classic and modern films, spanning a variety of decades, genres, filmmakers, and actors, and through active viewing, reflective response, reaction papers, formal essays, and discussion, students will learn to judge quality based on elements of the art form and of storytelling. Emphasis is placed on developing writing composition skills and analytic reflection. REACH curriculum and smaller class sizes are designed to meet the personal and academic needs of students with emotional challenges.
