Calculus Honors – Precalculus is designed to prepare students for college level STEM focused courses. Students extend their knowledge of the complex number system to use complex numbers in polynomial identities and equations. Topics for student mastery include vectors and matrix quantities, sequences and series, parametric equations, and conic sections. Students use previous knowledge to continue progressing in their understanding of trigonometric functions and using regression equations to model quantitative data. As part of the requirement for this honor’s level course, students must complete rigorous assignments which may include complex problem-solving, research that involves reading/writing assignments, investigations and explorations, advanced use of technology and making connections within the discipline and to the workplace.

Prerequisites: Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II
