Centennial High School – German II
Mar 2026 · 2nd Semester
This course’s ACTFL Performance Goal of Intermediate Low means that by the end of the course students will likely understand the main idea and possibly some supporting facts in short passages on very familiar topics. Students will often need to read/hear the passage more than once and will usually need visual cues, context clues, and prior knowledge to help students understand what they read/hear. Students will be able to have a conversation about themselves and their lives. Students will also be able to use language to express their own thoughts and get the things that they need, however students will tend to speak and write in single sentences. Students will be able to ask and answer, as well as write simple questions about themselves and their life well enough to accomplish what they need. Students will do all of this in a way that the teacher and others who are used to language learners can understand what students are saying and writing. Students will investigate the products and practices of a culture to understand a culture’s unique perspectives so that students can interact with others in and from another culture. Students will participate in regular performance assessments and take the STAMP proficiency assessment as part of a student’s final exam grade.
