Centennial High School – American Sign Language I
Mar 2026 · 2nd Semester
Online course. Students will be exposed to the language, culture, and history of the Deaf Community in the United States. They will learn ASL handshapes, fingerspelling, sign vocabulary, and grammatical structures that will allow them to navigate introductions, share information about themselves and others, and participate in basic conversations using American Sign Language. There will be a strong focus on both receptive comprehension and expressive use of the language. Students will participate in regular performance assessments and take the STAMP proficiency assessment as part of a student’s final exam grade.
