Offered Spring Semester Only Introduction to the Theater courses provide an overview of the art, conventions, and history of the theater. In this class students will learn about theatre through a variety of techniques including class discussions, essays, and performance. Students learn about one or more of the following topics: basic techniques in acting, major developments in dramatic literature, major playwrights, the formation of theater as a cultural tradition, and critical appreciation of the art. Drama II focuses on improvisation, scene study and an introduction to different theatre practitioners/styles as well as critique. Successful completion of Drama I Counseling Notes: 1. Credit will be awarded as needed by each individual student in this sequential order: Fine/Practical Arts, or Elective. 2. This class does not qualify as CDHE approved English credit.
