In Astronomy, students conduct laboratory and field investigations, use science and engineering practices, learn to recognize recurring themes and concepts, and make informed decisions using critical thinking and scientific problem solving. Students delve into patterns, processes, and relationships, conducting hands-on investigations to build a conceptual understanding of our cosmic position. Guided by two core questions—What are we? How do we know?—students navigate the latest discoveries while exploring the dynamic interplay of evidence and hypothesis. Students study a variety of topics, including the sky, stars, galaxies, the universe, the solar system, and life.
