Carver College and Career Academy – Current Events in Today’s Society

This elective course, open to juniors and seniors, is designed to use present-day events to enhance students’ knowledge of the US political climate and encourage civic awareness and participation. Broad issues such as civil liberties, participation in the electoral process and the basic concepts of republicanism and democracy will be common threads throughout the course.
