The film course aims to develop students as proficient interpreters and makers of film texts. Through the study and analysis of film texts, and through practical exercises in film production, the film course develops students’ critical abilities and their appreciation of artistic, cultural, historical and global perspectives in film. Students examine film concepts, theories, practices and ideas from multiple perspectives, challenging their own viewpoints and biases in order to understand and value those of others. The Meadowbrook Academy for Developing Entrepreneurs (MADE) is the perfect place for students with a passion for innovation and leadership to turn their ideas into reality! At MADE, you’ll dive into our entrepreneurship pathway, where you’ll learn to generate ideas, create business plans and launch your own ventures. You'll gain hands-on experience with industry professionals, participate in exciting events like the MADE Business Expo and network with local startups and universities, such as the VCU da Vinci Center for Innovation. Center Objectives Innovation and Creativity Cultivate a learning environment where students are encouraged to think creatively, generate innovative ideas, and explore entrepreneurial opportunities. Develop Entrepreneurial Skills Equip students with practical skills in business planning, financial management, marketing, and leadership to prepare them for launching and managing successful ventures. Provide Experiential Learning Opportunities Offer hands-on experiences through real-world projects, internships, and mentorship with industry professionals to bridge classroom learning with business practice. Facilitate Networking and Collaboration Create platforms for students to connect with local startups, universities (such as the VCU da Vinci Center for Innovation), and industry leaders to build relationships and partnerships.
