Carver College and Career Academy – Honors Media Exploration I

Media Explorations I is an introductory studio course designed for sophomore students in the Specialty Center for the Arts' Fine Arts Track. This class encourages students to push the boundaries of traditional two-dimensional techniques by combining them with unconventional and emerging materials. Students will explore the possibilities of three-dimensional forms through a variety of mediums, including: encaustic, moldmaking, fibers, glass, wood, metal, and more. The focus will be on material exploration, experimentation, and the development of technical skills across both traditional and non-traditional media. Through guided projects and open-ended exploration, students will gain confidence in integrating diverse materials into their creative practice, preparing them for more advanced studies in art and design. (Prerequisite: Honors Fine Artist’s Studio I)
