Students are introduced to broadcast journalism and media production for television, radio, and digital platforms, and apply journalistic standards and technical skills. Students explore researching, planning, filming, storytelling, and technical production, including camera operation, lighting, audio, editing with Adobe Premiere, and scriptwriting for multiple broadcast formats while producing a student-run weekly news show and creating marketing materials for community organizations. Students also investigate newsroom collaboration, ethical journalism, audience analysis, and data-driven reporting. (Prerequisite: MC011O/H)
