The study of authentic Roman texts that could include Virgil’s Aeneid, Ovid’s Metamorphoses, Plautus plays, poetry by Catullus and Horace among other classical authors and works. Successful students will exit the course with an Advanced-Low proficiency level for interpretive reading, Intermediate-Low for interpretive listening, Intermediate-Mid for presentational writing and a Novice-Mid proficiency level or higher for all other modes of communication, aligned with the Virginia Standards of Learning and ACTFL proficiency scale.
