Carver College and Career Academy – Honors Fine Artist’s Studio I

This introductory course is designed for freshmen entering the Specialty Center for the Arts. Fine Artist’s Studio I focuses on the foundational techniques and principles of traditional two-dimensional art. Students will explore a variety of dry media (e.g., graphite, charcoal, pastels) and wet media (e.g., ink, watercolor, acrylics), as well as basic printmaking techniques. Emphasis will be placed on developing technical skills, understanding and applying the elements of art and principles of design, and fostering creativity through guided projects and exercises. This course aims to build a strong artistic foundation and cultivate a passion for visual arts. (Prerequisite: Selected for admission to the Specialty Center for the Arts)
