Carver College and Career Academy – Honors Ceramics I

This course teaches basic ceramic processes to include hand building as well as wheel throwing. These ceramic processes of pottery are applicable to tableware, decorative, functional and nonfunctional form. Includes throwing, coiling, slab building and a variety of surface decorating techniques. Over the course of a year, students will generate a completed ceramics portfolio showcasing all outlined skills. For Honors Course: Honors Contract requirements must be met to receive weighted grading. (Lab fee is required.) (Prerequisite: VA9210 3-D Design and Crafts I)
