The Medical Interventions course will provide opportunities for students to investigate thevariety of interventions involved in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of disease asthey follow the lives of a fictitious family. Students will experience a wide range ofinterventions related to Immunology, Surgery, Genetics, Pharmacology, Medical Devices,and Diagnostics through scenarios. Case scenario interventions may range from simplediagnostic tests to treatment of complex diseases and disorders. Lifestyle choices andpreventive measures are emphasized throughout the course as well as the important rolescientific thinking and engineering design play in the development of interventions of thefuture.
Prerequisites: Human Body Systems and Principles of Biomedical Science
