Butler Traditional High – Fundamentals of Art & Design

This is an elective course for non-Visual Art Program students. This course will introduce students to the basic fundamentals of artistic expression. This course includes experiences in a variety of 2D and 3D art processes, including drawing, painting, sculpture, clay, and fabric. Students learn problem-solving strategies by “thinking like an artist” through application of artistic process and design thinking strategies. A study of contemporary and historical art and artists from a worldwide perspective and development of art presentation skills will increase students’ ability to respond to art and connect through art to the world around them.
