Digital Independent Study Art is a self-directed course designed for advanced students seeking to develop a personalized body of digital artwork. Students will refine their skills in digital imaging, photography, graphic design, Animation, 3D Modeling and/or multimedia art, using industry-standard software such as Adobe Creative Cloud. Emphasis is placed on creative exploration, conceptual development, and technical mastery through independent projects, critiques, and research. Students will set individual goals, engage in self-assessment, and prepare work suitable for portfolios, exhibitions, or AP Studio Art submission. This course provides flexibility while maintaining high artistic and technical standards. Course can be taken multiple times or taken for AP Studio Art: 2D Design credit. Beginning level to intermediate. Understanding of mac operating systems of adobe suite programs a plus.
Prerequisites: Previous beginning level visual arts class with a B or better; Cs and lower must have a teacher recommendation/portfolio review.
