This course focuses on how literature “provides an opportunity to better understand the experiences of others” (Soto 2017). Over the course of one semester, students will use this focus on how literature humanizes to further their ability to critically analyze the writing of others; express themselves through writing; and take part in discussions that explore their current understandings, as well as expand those understandings toward a broader worldview.
