GT Leadership I is a year long elective class open to all identified 9th and 10th grade students. GT Leadership 1 is focused on connecting college to high school experiences by looking inward, looking outward, and looking forward towards the future. The curriculum is specifically designed to create opportunities where students are challenged to think critically, explore, create, develop, and become independent thinkers and leaders. Students will have an opportunity to learn 21st century skills such as communication, collaboration, creativity and innovation, critical thinking and problem solving, community and citizenship, and compassion and character. This course is a hands-on, project-based approach to leadership and college preparation, with an emphasis on the whole child. Students will meet the district speech requirement with this course.
