Through the study and analysis of fi lm texts, and through practical exercises in fi lm production, the fi lm course develops students’ critical abilities and their appreciation of artistic, cultural, historical and global perspectives in fi lm. Students examine fi lm concepts, theories, practices and ideas from multiple perspectives, challenging their own viewpoints and biases in order to understand and value those of others. SL and HL students will explore various fi lm production roles through engagement with all phases of the fi lmmaking process in order to fulfi l their own fi lmmaker intentions. Students will acquire, develop and apply skills through fi lmmaking exercises, experiments and completed fi lms. HL students will focus on the collaborative aspects of fi lmmaking and experience working in core production teams in order to fulfi ll shared artistic intentions. Th
