Students recognize the characteristics that defi ne their culture and gain an appreciation for the culture of others. Content should include, but is not limited to, human biological and cultural origins, adaptation to the physical environment, the diversity of human behavior, the evolution of social and cultural institutions, patterns of language development, family and kinship relationships, and the effect of change on cultural institutions.
