Bloomingdale High School – Law Studies Honors

The purpose of Law Studies is to provide students the opportunity to acquire an understanding of the American legal process with an emphasis on Florida law. Specific content includes the study of historical antecedents for law, constitutional guarantees of citizens, different kinds of laws, comparison of adult and juvenile justice systems, the value of law in society, the role of law enforcement officials, the importance of the adversarial relationships in American jurisprudence, the evolution of interpretations, social values and their impact on interpretations of the law, and the supremacy of the Constitution.
