Bladensburg Elementary – Beginning Elementary Band

This is a year-long, performance based course aligned with the Maryland State Fine Arts Standards. Students will learn to play a woodwind, brass, or percussion instrument. Concepts that are taught include: note and rhythm reading, interpretation of musical symbols, basic music terminology, sound production, posture, playing and hand position, embouchure, breath support, and proper care and assembly of instruments.
