Students will study character development, theme, symbolism, conflict, irony, setting, style, and point of view. Young adult novels will be used to increase students'  ability to compare and contrast, and to understand the author'sperspective.  Oral and written communication skills will be reinforced. This course does not take the place of any required English course.
