Bard High School Early College – CHI 201(prev.103): Intermediate Chinese I

Intermediate Chinese I, a semester-long high-level language course, isdesigned to build upon the skills students developed in Chinese I andChinese II during their freshman and sophomore years of high school,respectively. Students will extend their ability to understand and expressthemselves using basic Chinese (Mandarin) while increasing theirvocabulary. The aim is for students to develop communicativecompetence in a variety of real-life, daily situations. Students will alsolearn about the richness of Chinese culture and customs, therebydeveloping their global perspective, using supplementary materials,including rhymes, songs, videos, cartoons, and readings. Classroominstruction will be predominantly deliveredin Chinese.
