Baltimore School for the Arts – Industrial Technology

In this course students learn how to work with woodworking machines and will work on their own projects that they will be able to take home once complete. Students explore careers in the building trades and manufacturing. While wood is the primary material used in the projects, students have the opportunity to work with metals and composite materials. Safety is emphasized throughout, and all students will demonstrate the ability to work on the shop equipment safely. This course is designed to provide active learning situations in technology emphasizing problem solving, creativity, and cooperation.
