Baltimore International Academy WestIntro. To Research methods

This course is designed to introduce students to current topics and practices of scientific research, and to have students analyze connections between science and technology and specific issues faced by our society. Students define individual areas of interest, and perform activities to enhance their understanding of current research goals and methodologies within the chosen field. For students who wish to pursue the option, the course will provide a framework for implementing an independent scientific research project during their junior and senior years of high school through the Research Practicum course (offered junior or senior year). To do this, students work with the instructor to locate a mentor to supervise his/her independent project.
