Baltimore International Academy West – Honors Chinese I

This is an introductory honors course in Chinese. The proficiency level for this class is Novice High according to the ACTFL standards of language proficiency. The language of instruction is mostly in Chinese. Students will interact in all modalities of communication (speaking, reading, writing, and listening comprehension) as well as engage in activities that develop their awareness of the target cultures. Students will receive a general introduction into phonetics, basic grammatical structures and vocabulary to engage in simple conversation.
