Students refine their application of the Elements of Art and Prin - ciples of Design to create personal art that communicates ideas through drawing, painting, printmaking, contemporary crafts and sculptural design. Students understand the role of art in the history of North Carolina and the United States. Comparisons are made between skills possessed by students and those needed in a variety of art careers. Students critique art based on criteria and can use convincing arguments to respond to art.
