Journalism Advanced is typically associated with student leaders of a school newspaper, yearbook, or literary magazine. This courses will emphasize writing style and technique as well as production values and organization. In Journalism Advanced students demonstrate their knowledge and skill by leading and mentoring peers in: creating items that are newsworthy; upholding high standards and press responsibility; further developing skills in writing and editing stories, headlines, and captions; and support the principles of production design, layout, and printing. Journalism Advanced students focus on editing and newsroom management.
