Arts and Communication Magnet Academy – Poetry (L575X)

In this class, students will spend the majority of time writing poetry. We will revel in the depths of words, rhythms, rhyme, syntax, and structure through workshopping your poems and by reading contemporary poetry. We will study the works of prominent poets to inspire your own experimentation with writing different forms of poetry: free verse, closed form poems, prose poems, and spoken word.
